pet peeves and a couple comic book complaints
pet peeve #1: when people use "literally" as an intensifier, and not to explain that they aren't speaking figuratively. drives me totally crazy. note how I didn't say "literally crazy" there, because I actually still am in possession of my faculties.
pet peeve #2: slightly similar to the above. when people say something is a "fake cut" and it's not. A fake cut is when you make it look like you've cut-tagged something, but it's actually a link to a different livejournal entry or a different website entirely. However, people use the term when they've just linked something. to be a fake cut, it has to be bold, and in parentheses. And I think there might be a space between the text and the parentheses, but I'm not sure. A regular link, or even a link in parentheses, is not a fake cut. It has to make the viewer think it is a cut tag. People are always calling regular links fake cuts. No!
Also, people are very sloppy with apostrophes. I find myself making plurals possessive occasionally, so i really shouldn't be criticizing this in others, but it does make you (and me, presumably) look very stupid.
Anyways. I was going to write about what an awesome time i had in the city yesterday with
snortney08, and how amazing it was to see phantom and go backstage and meet the phantom!! but there's lightning so i need to shut the computer soon and you will all have to be in suspense!
oh, also! I really wish I hadn't just read the latest three issues of Robin. I really. . . obviously, I haven't gotten to read that much with Cass, the new Batgirl, because I've missed the past two years of comics. And her series started to suck before that. So I gathered that things were changing for her, that she was becoming more sort of normal and able to communicate and all that. But. . . she was sweet and charming and I really enjoyed the beginning of her series. The. . . what was it, the Puckett, Scott, Campanella times? Very good. I associate it in my mind with the Brubaker/Cooke and Brubaker/Stewart issues of Catwoman. Anyway, Cass. It was like, even though she had such a hard time doing people things, she was so sweet and there was a sort of innocence and, well, trustworthiness about her. :-/ Sad.
Also, I mourn Impulse. I mean, more than Superboy. Well, ok, that makes sense because I'm a bigger fan, but I'm warming to Kon. What I really mean is that it seems like Impulse is more dead than Superboy. SB could come back, but this stupid Kid Flash character has completely taken over Bart's body. Again--charm: destroyed.

And yes! that is another one! I mean, lots of things about internet grammar and communication bother me (although a friend of mine hates when people don't capitalize and I do that all the time, so that's one thing that I let slip). It just makes people look so stupid! But the above are things that I really rage about ;)
