I'm feeling restless. And I can't bring myself to read any more about pseudo-Pauline letters. Oddly enough. >.>

Zep addiction continues. I'm itching either to read some new good fanfic and I can't find it (not Zep-related fanfic, buffy-related--don't worry!), or to do something Zep related that I'm unable to do. I've reached a bit of a hitch in my website-viewing, information-gathering, picture-ogling process. I really want the new DVD. Which has no name, for convenience's sake! XD Anyway, I'm trying to be super-thrifty so I can buy it without guilt.

It is snowing! Which has me excited. Because if it snows enough, and for long enough, there might be a snow day tomorrow. The day on which I tutor at an elementary school! Now, I love Ashley, who I'm tutoring, even though we've only had two sessions, but I've got a lot of work to do and I'm sure we both would be happier if school was cancelled tomorrow.

Also, my professor for both my classes tomorrow (the one for whom I'm supposed to be reading about pseudo-Pauline letters) lives in Amherst and might not be able to get here should there be bad weather, even if all the Smith classes aren't cancelled.

So, even though I'm pretty sick of snow, I am hoping that it will snow long and hard tonight. Of course, I know that this will put people out and create many inconveniences for others, so I always feel slightly guilty. . . but many, many smithies would be happy to be able to go back to sleep, and many elementary school children as well.

And I just messed up trying to join the quizbowl yahoo group. Apparently you're supposed to give name, college, and email in the request box, I just gave college. Damnation!! Hopefully I'll be able to get in anyway. (many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] yoda4554 for pointing me to the group and giving me valuable advice for my first meeting as the Smith College Quizbowl Team's official Tournament Coordinator. Woo. . .?)

Anyway. Robert Plant. Pretty. And I can't seem to stop myself from casting Jimmy Page as Shannon in Night of the Iguana (apparently I'm going to have to find headshots of my pretend cast for some point in the future). Sure, Shannon is supposed to be sexy, but I just don't see him that way. Maybe because now I'm picturing him as Jimmy Page, who is a frightening looking man. At least, when he was Shannon's age. . . now he's more cuddly. But, er, don't tell him I said that. ;) Actually, if you have Jimmy Page's ear, you can mention me in whatever context you like. None of you have Jimmy Page's ear, do you? Anyway, Shannon is also a man on the brink of (and I'm only halfway through) a nervous breakdown, and a lot of the pictures of Jimmy Page are sort of post-heroin addiction (or rather, during) and he looks pretty strung out, and. . . I just like it. I want to do an entire rock star cast, like. . . Joni Mitchell as Hannah and whatever. XD But that'd be silly. ::cough::

I can't stop talking about Led Zeppelin. Esp. Robert Plant, on whom I have a big girly crush and am prone to Plant!swooning at random times. I need to find people to whom I can babble about these things. XD Katie is not amused! Also, I kept sharing the results of my groupie research and she was distressed. (Penny Lane of Almost Famous is not based on Bebe Buell, people!) To which I can relate.

The Zep obsession is fun, though, because people are less scornful than of the Buffy obsession (or Stargate, or comic books, etc). Sometimes people even seem quite worried, in a very 50s/60s/70s way, that the evil Rock'n'Roll will corrupt sweet innocent me! Which is funny on many levels. Zeppelin, at least their music, has been given a reputation for being much heavier than it actually is. I would never use the term "heavy metal" to describe them. Of course, what do I know? (about heavy metal, at least: nothing!)

My Robert Plant crush is funny. I think it only works because he very obviously doesn't take himself too seriously (now, at least--I love recent interviews with him!) cos that's a big turn off. Like, Jim Morrison. Seems to take himself way too seriously. Whereas even though Robert Plant was all poet-y and I hate poetry and all that, he can laugh at himself, and seems to genuinely enjoy being him. Also I'm in love with his hair. And the fact that his voice blows me away and his penis is legendarily large doesn't hurt. :D Aww, Robert Plant.

I don't know. It's just exciting. They're soooo big, but they're so new to me. I'm loving the new obsession.

am tired.

Snow appears to still be coming down quite heavily. There is hope.
